Introducing Form and Fold.

Where the earth meets the ocean: Australian D+ swimwear label Form and Fold—formerly known as The Fold—reveals new brand name and new collection of signature, expert-constructed pieces.

Coinciding with the launch of its first new range in almost 18 months, The Fold is now Form and Fold, marking a new chapter for the Melbourne-born, female-led swim label, whose commitment to marrying fit, function and design for D+ cup sizes has seen it gain a global following and the support of stockists such as Selfridges and Matches.

Form and Fold was founded as The Fold in 2017 by Carly Warson (32E) and Stephanie Korn (32DD), borne from their shared desire to to liberate women from swimwear that doesn’t fit properly, with a particular focus on women with small backs and large busts.

“Our rebrand is a milestone in the evolution of our label. We’ve always been driven to innovate beautiful and functional swimwear for women to feel supported and their best, and we wanted to ensure our name totally encapsulated our unique marriage of form and function,” says Form and Fold co-founder Stephanie Korn.

The first collection under the brand’s new identity embodies the brand’s signature pared-back aesthetic and focus on fit, with limited-edition colours including a deep woodland green, an oyster-blue ombre and a clay-hued brushed metallic creating an organic and timeless palette.

Form and Fold’s co-founder Carly Warson explains the collection is inspired by the beauty of the Australian environment, with colours capturing the unique landscape where land meets sea.

“The past year has made us both acutely aware of how fortunate we are to live in this country, where there is such an abundance of natural beauty across such varied landscapes. When we surveyed our community to see what colours they wanted to see, it became clear to us that what we are craving right now is the chance to feel connected to nature,” she says.

“The collection became almost a love letter to the beauty of the Australian environment. The burnished, textured orange provides a warm earthiness to our signature fits, while the forest green and oyster blue feel organic and soothing. The fact that the release of these new colourways dovetails with our new brand name makes this a very special and momentous collection for us,” she continues.

Available in 26 sizes spanning sizes 30E–38F, the new collection is cut in Form and Fold’s classic one-piece, three signature bottoms and their four signature top styles, each of which is designed and engineered to fit and flatter the body like your best bra.

Warson and Korn spent three years perfecting the fit of their signature swimwear using lingerie sizing and construction to form the base of every design. To this day, the pair work with a team of expert D+ technicians to ensure every piece fuses fit, function and design. Customers are given the option to take a 90-second online fit quiz to find their perfect fit, and benefit from 30 day returns as well as a team of fit specialists to assist them.

“We’ve taken the principles of lingerie construction and engineering to the swim category to ensure women can find swimwear that is as form-fitting and comfortable as their favourite bra. It’s staggering to know that 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size—many of our customers are wearing their Form and Fold tops as their everyday bra because it just fits better,” says Warson.

With a strong sense of environmental responsibility, nearly 80 percent of Form and Fold’s Italian fabric is made from recycled waste such as nylon fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic from landfills and oceans. In an effort to help close the loop on waste, the brand partners with Support the Girls to recycle unwanted or retired straps and bands. $1 from each sale is donated to Sister Works.
